Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has raised another alarm that the children of his colleague, Senator Dino Melaye, currently being held by police are living in ‘very horrific conditions.’
According to the lawmaker representing Bayelsa East constituency, Melaye’s children have been sleeping in the dark because police refused Abuja Electricity Distribution Comapny, AEDC to reconnect their power – Since their father, lawmaker representing Kogi West surrendered willingly to police.
The police had caught off power supply to the senator’s Maitama, Abuja home during an 8-day siege on his residence to get him to surrender, be arrested and face the law – For allegedly attempting to kill a police officer, Saliu Danjuma while on duty alongside his ‘thugs’.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, Senator Bruce wrote:
So after
@dino_melaye surrendered himself to@PoliceNG, the Police did a thorough search of his house & found nothing. Yet, the police have refused AEDC from reconnecting his power. Currently, Dino’s kids are left to sleep in darkness and under very horrific conditions.
