Southampton have fired manager, Mark Hughes, after a poor start to the season for the premier league side. The former Manchester City manager has been sacked after leading the Hampshire based club to just nine points in 14 league games this season.
The club released an official statement via social media confirming the manager’s departure today. “Southampton football club can today confirm it has parted company with first team manager, Mark Hughes. We would like to express our thanks to Mark and his staff for all of their efforts during their time at St. Mary’s. The search for a new manager to take the club forward is already underway”. The welsh manager was appointed on 14 March, 2018.
