I usually walk one mile and exercise but I won’t as Nigerians to vote my because of that
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, who would be contesting the 2019 presidential election should his party make him their flagbearer has taken a swipe at the presidency.
Yesterday, the presidency had in a statement hailed president Muhammadu Buhari as fit to seek reelection after he walked 800 meters from the prayer ground to his residence in Daura, Katsina state.
Reacting to the statement, the presidential aspirant said he usually walks a mile and exercises but would be ‘pedestrian of me to ask Nigerians to vote me because of that.’
The former VP said he is asking his party, the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to vote him because he can ‘work to create jobs not walk to create illusion’.
He wrote
I regularly jog more than a mile & exercise, but it will be pedestrian of me to ask Nigerians to vote for me because of that. I want my party – the PDP, and Nigerians, to vote for me because I WORK not because I WALK. I will work to create jobs. I won’t walk to create an illusion pic.twitter.com/zxkzLcWDpg
