This Liverpool’s early form is a testament to early season hype that they would contest the league title with Manchester city. They might not have won with a heavy margin but they were classy and determined against a rugged Crystal palace side.
The game was evenly contested by both teams with Crystal palace affording Liverpool little space in the final third. The much awaited opening came when Crystal palace player, Mamadou Sakho, clumsily tripped mohammed Salah in the penalty area and a spot kick was awarded just on the stroke of half time.
The spot kick was converted duly by James Milner and from there, space began to open up at both ends with Crystal palace trying to get back into the game. But they were reduced to 10 men in the 75th minute when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was adjudged to have denied Salah a clear goalscoring.
It took a moment of genius from Sadio Mane to put the game to bed in the 90th minute when he ran through the Crystal palace defence to make it two nil.
