Abraham Olajuwon Obasanjo caused tongues to wag, after he openly declared his support for the reelection bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, asking to even join his campaign organization and subsequently, emerged the new national president of the Buhari Youth Organization (BYO).
This caused a stir because his father, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, has withdraw his support from Buhari, whom he had supported against former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
Obasanjo had warned Nigerians not to reinforce failure by reelecting Buhari. In a series of letter, a while back, he accused Buhari of being a failure, and urged him not to seek reelection, an advise that the president, ignored.
Seeing Juwon Obasanojo throwing his weight behind the man, who is father had turned against naturally whipped up sentiments among Nigerians. However, father and son showed Nigerians that no matter their political affiliation, the bond between them is strong and unbreakable.
