Tottenham suffered a heavy 4-2 defeat to FC Barcelona yesterday in their second group match of UEFA champions league thereby leaving the London club without a win in their Champions League campaign this season.
They conceded two goals in the first half alone to go down by 2-0 but came back chasing the game in the second half. They almost clawed their way back into the game by reducing the deficits by one goal but Barcelona compounded the woes by adding one more goal to make it 3-1.
They didn’t relent, they continued throwing bodies forward in search of another goal which the got and the scoreline became 3-2. Then they started poring out forward en-mass just to snatch a point from the game but Barcelona put the game to rest by adding another goal and the game ended 4-2.
As a result of their second half showing, Spurs defender, Keiran Trippier, who was in action for the entire match took to social media to react by saying – even though they didn’t get the result they wanted, he is happy with the second half performance.
What he said below:
Not the result we wanted but we can take some positives from the second half. Thanks for your support pic.twitter.com/6prtpUOZHK
