Why I’m not Worried About Manchester United Sack- Mourinho

Tuesday 4 September 2018

Jose Mourinho might be feeling the pressure ease on him a little after the win against Burnley gave him some breathing room

The team now go into the international break after an impressive victory against last year’s surprise package of the Premier League.

Two goals from Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku gave United the win on the day and the number of chances created will have been hugely encouraging.

Mourinho had been under the cosh after back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspurs at Old Trafford put Manchester United on the brink.

Many had commented on how unsuited the Portuguese was to the team, his man management was criticised and he was accused of not getting the best out of players.

If there are fans of the manager who are worried about his sack, he seems pretty calm, citing that it would cost United more money than it was worth.

When asked, he said: “If they sent me away, do you have any idea how much money they would have to give me?!”

“They say I’m in danger, but I don’t think so.”

Mourinho has been on a collision course with Manchester United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, who he’s blamed for his inability to bring in the players he wants to help strengthen the team.

Manchester United made only 3 signings with Fred coming in from Shakhtar Donetsk and Dalot from Porto. Youngster Lee Grant was signed as a third-choice goalkeeper.
