Former minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has said Nigeria must now consider weather based insurance approach to tackle flooding in Nigeria.
Okonjo-Iweala, who was recently appointed into the twitter board said it was sad that flooding which used to occur once in 30years has now become a regular occurrence .
The former finance minister said this over twitter on Tuesday. According to her, Nigeria must consider using a strong risk mitigation and risk management strategy.
She wrote:
Time for Nigeria to consider weather based insurance approaches and a strong risk mitigation and risk management strategy in the context of climate change. @African Risk Capacity

A few days ago, there were reports that major flood in Kano claimed many lives and properties.
