BBC have been trending for the wrong reason since yesterday after they tried to make a joke out of Arsene Wenger’s visit to Liberia. The french man was in Liberia to meet with George Weah, a player he coached before going on to become the president of Liberia.
BBC joked about the medal that was given to Wenger while in Liberia and term it a ” break through in his long wait for trophy.”
The joke didn’t go down well with football fans as they took out time to roast BBC news and as such, BBC have issued an apology.
See what they said below:
We’ve seen a big reaction to our poor attempt at humour in this tweet. So to be fair, Arsene Wenger is of course one of the most successful managers in English football with many medals and trophies to his name, having won 3 league titles, 7 FA Cups and 7 Community Shields. https://t.co/BzFpuNatNO
