Armed Robbers kill Pastor in Ondo State ( Read full Story )

A pastor in the Nigerian Baptist Conference in Ondo State, identified as Deji Joshua, has been confirmed dead in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased was the pastor in charge of the Goodnews Baptist Church, Igbegunrin, Ilaje/Apoi Association of the Ondo State Baptist Conference.

According to a police source, the deceased was on his motorcycle when the suspected robbers killed him on Ode Aye Road.

The source, who said the incident occurred at about 11.30pm on Monday, added that the robbers stole the motorcycle.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, said the command had commenced investigation into the incident.

He said, “When we heard about the attack on the pastor, our men moved to the scene and we saw bullet injuries on his body. Investigation is ongoing.”

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria,  Ondo State, Revd. John Oladapo, urged the police to fish out the killers of the cleric.

Oladapo, who is also a Baptist conference pastor, said, “We are imploring the police and other security agencies to fish out the killers and bring them  to book.”
