Tade Ogidan partners High Impact on Gold Statue

Wednesday 26 July 2017

Fans of acclaimed film producer, Tade Ogidan, can now look forward to another masterpiece from him as he has started work on a new movie titled, Gold Statue.

Apart from assembling some of the best Nollywood actors for the project, he is partnering a mega relaxation and amusement centre – High Impact, owned by Solution Media and Infotech Limited, located on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Gold Statue is coming seven years after Ogidan’s last feature film, titled Family on Fire. The new work, according to him, will be filmed in Lagos, Ilesa, Dubai and London. The plan is also to premiere it in key film festivals across the globe, as well as private places in Nigeria.

Making this known at a media round-table meeting held at the Arcade Building of the Hi-Impact Planet Amusement Park, Ogidan said the movie would feature great artistes that include Alibaba, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Sola Sobowale, Gabriel Afolayan, Kunle Rhemmy, Rycardo Agbor, Nobert Young and Segun Arinze.

Ogidan said, “The primary location for the filming is Hi-Impact Planet Amusement Park,  owned by Solution Media, a company I considered as having, perhaps, one of the craziest equipment that anyone can find around. The production equipment for the movie are exactly same as has been used for recent blockbuster Hollywood movies.”

Ogidan described Gold Statue as an adventure comedy that he had been working on for a while. Adding that Ali Baba and Shobowale were co-producers of the movie, he noted, ” It’s a full house of producers with a lot of experience. That gives me room to be able to concentrate as the director. Of course, it’s a very technical story. Expect a bit of prison stuff in it and you will be amazed at the research that has gone in to this. It’s a partnership that we believe will be an awesome outing and that’s really what is important.”

The movie follows  the adventure of two young men, Wale (Gabriel Afolayan) and Chike (Kunle Rhemmy) in search of a gold statue. It centres on the length that both men can go to acquire the statue, which is believed to belong to aa deity.
