APC confidence over winning Saturday’s Local government elections

Tuesday 18 July 2017

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed confidence over the up coming Saturday’s Local Government election, as the party believes no party can stop them from winning on Saturday.

A statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, Lagos APC, Joe Igbokwe on Monday said “As we prepare to have a date with history once again this Saturday let it be made known that it is a no contest exercise as it remains APC all the way.

“We are beating our chests because we know where we are coming from. We have a long history of commitment to service delivery in Lagos and our biggest selling point has been the massive transformation from the jungle former President Obasanjo called Lagos in year 2000 to become the fifth largest economy in Africa.

“With sure and calculated definite steps, careful planning, intelligent leadership, and every sense of responsibility, the leaders have raised the bar in delivering democratic dividends to the extent that Lagos has not only become a pace setter in Nigeria but also noted for building strong democratic institutions for unprecedented economic growth.”

The party appealed to Lagosians to continue to do the needful by coming out enmasse to vote APC as they have been doing in the past.

“Please ignore PDP and their collaborators in Labour Party. They have nothing to offer in Lagos because Lagos is bigger than them and they cannot give what they do not have. The state is too important, too strategic and too big to left in the hands of mediocres and functional political illiterates. Those who were part of our ugly past cannot be the ones that will control our tomorrow’s potentials,” the party said.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC had fixed Saturday, July 22 2017 for the LG poll in the state.
